Karri (Eucalyptus diversicolor) is one of Australia's tallest hardwoods. The heartwood timber from mature trees is pale pink to reddish brown with a course and even texture, although regrowth heartwood is a lighter colour. The sapwood is white and usually easy to distinguish. Because of its high strength Karri has been used extensively for general construction making it readily available as a reclaimed timber. Greater lengths are available than from any other Western Australian hardwood. Larger width boards can be milled to order.
Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata) is one Western Australia’s most popular timber floors. The heartwood of mature trees is dark-red to reddish brown, although regrowth is pinkish-red, while the sapwood is pale yellow. The texture of the wood is relatively coarse but even, with a slightly interlocked grain. Jarrah flooring can be supplied as either reclaimed or milled of which large stocks are readily available. Larger width boards can be milled to order. Jarrah has a high termite resistance
