The Recycled Timber Company in Perth is a West Australian family owned and operated, timber recycling and milling company.

 At the Recycled Timber Company we recover and remill old timber from old homes, buildings, stage floors, warehouses, mills and derelict buildings. A majority of our floors and timbers are sourced through demolition companies, however we also buy from other sources depending on the species,quantity and condition of the floor or timber. 

PLEASE NOTE: Many of our first time customers seeking recycled timber flooring and decking are unaware of the high labour costs in reclaiming and processing recycled timber. The process involves salvaging the timber, detecting and removing old nails/bolts, docking damaged sections and re-packing and/or remilling it into new boards or decking. There is also a high wastage factor involved in remilling, as we try and produce the highest quality timber products.

So when shopping around please do not just consider your purchase on per square metre price only, as there is a lot of variation in the quality of recycled timbers. Take time to compare the quality of the 'recycled or salvage' timber being offered. It is a common misconception that recycled timber is an inferior product. In alot of cases old grade hardwood timber exceeds the strength and durability of new fast growing plantation timbers.

About Our Recycled Timber
We specialise in recycling and remilling West Australian hardwoods.Our flooring, decking and custom milled products are manufactured from Jarrah, Karri, Marri, Wandoo and Blackbutt, suiting a range of commercial and residential renovation projects.

These timbers were once logged from old-growth forests in the South West of WA.This region is renowned for producing some of the most beautiful hardwoods in the world. However, with the reduction in native hardwood logging,‘old-growth’ timber has become increasingly scarce and now in high demand.Our recycled old growth hardwoods are not only full of character, they have stood the test of time, proving their durability and stability.

  • Keep in mind that timber is a natural product and no two trees are the same. There will be natural variations your floor and decks appearance, this can be displayed as spirals, gum veins and colour variation, caused by the trees growing in different climates, soil types and under a range of forest conditions - fire, drought and insect attack.
     
  • All timber packs are sold as a random length spread.

1. Purchasing
Please be mindful that you are purchasing reclaimed timber, it is a natural product that varies in colour, lengths and imperfections (e.g. gum veins and old nail holes). We invite you to inspect our flooring and decking products before you make a decision. The Recycled Timber Company guarantees the quality of the packs of timber that are delivered to your door.

Ordering & payment
When ordering or seeking a quote for timber flooring or decking, please provide the following details
Species - jarrah, karri, marri, wandoo or blackbutt
Type - Recycled, remilled or new
Profile type - tongue and groove, overlay or v-groove lining board
Size - i.e. 83x19mm, 105x19mm 
Quantity - in linear or square metres.
Please factor in a trimmming loss into this amount (5-10%) Refer to our Timber Coverage Calculator.
Delivery - required date and address

Payment in full is required for an order prior to pickup or delivery. When we receive your order and payment, we will ring you to arrange delivery. Due to storage constraints, we cannot store sold timber for an extended period of time.

2. Delivery and Storage
Recycled Timber can organise deliveries almost anywhere in Australia and overseas.
In the Perth metropolitan area we use local hiab operators to deliver your timber. We can arrange quotes for regional and interstate deliveries.If you wish to arrange your own you will need to know the weight and dimensions of the pack.We are happy to supply this information.

Delivery can be scheduled between Monday and Friday. It can be difficult to specify exact times. Once delivered, we ask you to verify all quantities received on the day of delivery. If this does not correspond with the quantity marked please contact us immediately.

PLEASE NOTE: Timber is a natural 'living' product and can absorb moisture and warp. 
During wet weather our products will be wrapped in plastic for transport. The wrapping protects the timber from rain, but it is not designed for long term storage, as it can sweat. Once on-sIte we recommend that the timber is placed in a moisture and sunlight free environment. Remove the plastic wrapping to prevent the timber from sweating and to aid the acclimatisation and drying process of the timber.

The Recycled Timber Company will not be responsible for the transfer of timber inside a building or out of direct weather.

Sorry, we can not refund unused, broken packs or remnant timber, so please ensure that you choose and purchase the right quantity of timber for your job.

3. Installation, Sanding and Finishing
Flooring can be installed on concrete pads, with batens or plywood or straight onto timber joists. While the Recycled Timber Company does not provide an installation service we can refer you to some high quality 'Trades people' to assist you with this service.
